Advisory

Class Overview

Advisory is the last period of the day on Tuesdays through Fridays.  This twenty five minute class is designed to help students succeed academically and prepare them for their future.  Each student is given an Advisory Binder that they will continue to use for the rest of their academic career at RMS and RHS.  One of the main skills acquired in 6th grade Advisory class is organizing and using the Advisory binder for student-led conferences.  Additional important skills are learning how to check  grades, communicating with teachers, and being held accountable for finishing all  assignments

Furthermore, this class will cover topics such as personality traits, learning styles, time management, goal setting, career interests, and an introduction to college. Students will also use Advisory class time to update their school planners.  Every Tuesday there will be a planner check and parents will need to review, check and initial their child’s planner each weekend.

Keep track of scores by writing them down on a paper and then add up the totals.
